Map includes topographical details and indicates major cities. Map size: 10 x 11 inches; center fold as issued. Excellent condition with very slight age-related toning.
Gilles Robert de Vaugondy (1688-1766), and his son, Didier Robert de Vaugondy (1723-1786), were leading cartographers, engravers and map publisher in France during the 18th century. Charles Francois Delamarche (1740-1817), founded the important Paris-based Maison Delamarche publishing firm in the late 18th century. A lawyer by trade, Delamarche entered the map business with the acquisition of Gilles Robert de Vaugondy's map printing plates, later adding plates from other sources as well.
