While All prints from this publication have a copyright date of 1872-4, the actual publication date was 1874 (First Edition). The artist's name appears in the print's bottom left, the engraver's name in the bottom right, and the publisher's name and copyright in the bottom center. 1874 Engraving of Niagra Falls, medium gray conservation mat, and Conservation Clear acrylic glazing. Mat opening size: 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches; total size with frame: 10 x 13 inches. Our prints from this volume are in excellent condition: unusually clean and free from foxing, and almost no age-related toning. As with all of our framed art, the frames and framing materials are new, and since framing is stored in a controlled environment away from light. Note: certain monitor resolutions and sizes may incorrectly display the images (the technical term is "moiré effect"). In actually, these prints are so fine that when viewed from a distance, they look more like a black and white photograph than an engraving. Picturesque America steel engravings are undoubtedly among the finest engravings ever published.
