Original untitled lithograph by Jean Capdeville published in Paris by Atelier Maeght in 1965. Excellent condition. The verso of this lithograph has some text written in French. Sheet size: 15 x 11 inches. Atelier Maeght is one of the most renowned printmakers in history, producing prints of the highest quality.
Jean Capdeville (1917-2011), did not start to paint until the age of 30, with a correspondence drawing course being his only artistic training. The first exhibition of his works was the following year, indicative of his innate talent. His "Burlesque" series of paintings caused increased notoriety. Later, he would add elements of graffiti to his work. While recognized as an abstract painter, Capdeville himself refused to be belong to any movement.
