We were fortunate to acquire a number of new old stock lithograph art posters. These posters are not reproductions or offset lithographs. They are original first edition, true lithograph posters, and very collectible works of art. This poster was one of these acquisitions, printed by L'Imprimerie ARTE in 1977 for an exhibition of Richard Linder at Galerie Maeght in late 1977 and early 1978. Poster size: 32 x 24 inches. Mint condition new old stock. This poster is a classic example of Linder's unique style.
Richard Linder (1925-1994) was a German-American artist known for his contributions to the art movements of Surrealism and Pop Art. He was born in Germany and later moved to the United States. Linder's artistic style combined elements of collage, painting, and drawing to create visually striking and provocative works. Linder is particularly recognized for his exploration of erotic and sexual themes in his art. His works often featured fragmented and distorted images of the human figure, juxtaposed with everyday objects, advertisements, and symbols. He drew inspiration from popular culture, advertising, and mass media, using these elements to create a sense of both fascination and discomfort in his viewers. Although Linder's work gained attention and acclaim within artistic circles, he remains relatively unknown to the broader public. However, his unique artistic vision and contributions to Surrealism and Pop Art have earned him a respected place in art history.
