Rare 1775 French and Indian War Era map of New England, published in the General Magazine of Arts and Sciences, full title: "New England & ye Country Adjacent, Extending Northward to Quebec, & Westward to Niagara, on Lake Ontario; Shewing Gen: Shirley and Gen: Iohnson's Routs". 
 
The map shows the area from Delaware Bay to Quebec and west to Lake Ontario.  It depicts cities, forts, rivers, lakes, portages, and the routes of the British Army marches, with inset plans of "Fort du Quesne" (Fort Duquesne, Pittsburgh), Oswego and Fort Frederick at Crown Point.  Map size 8-3/4 x 7-3/4 inches; overall size with frame: 14 x 13 inches.  The map is in excellent condition with gentle toning; three horizontal folds as issued.  A rich presentation of a rare and important map.
