These posters are not reproductions or offset lithographs.  They are original first edition, true lithograph posters, and very collectible works of art.  This poster, titled "Mithila, Les Femmes, Leurs Peintures et la Faveur des Dieux" (Mithila, The Women, Their Paintings and Thier Gods), was one of these acquisitions, printed in 1975 for an exhibition of Mithila art at Musée des Arts Décoratifs.  Printed by renowned ImprimerieARTE in Paris. Poster size: 28 x 15 inches.  Mint condition new old stock.

Mithila, also known as Madhubani, refers to artists who practice the traditional art form called Madhubani painting or Mithila painting, a folk art style that originated in the Mithila region of Bihar, India.  The art form typically involves intricate and colorful depictions of nature, mythology, and daily life using specific techniques and motifs.  These paintings are typically created by women artists, and have gained international recognition for their unique style and cultural significance.
