  • The New York Stock Exchange is the financial pulse of the nation and one of the most important markets of securities in the world. Its beautiful Corinthian facade was designed by George B. Post and finished in 1903.  To provide sufficient light for its vast interior hall where the daily trading is carried on, the architect arranged for the casing of the eastern front with solid sheets of glass.  These are partly concealed by a portico of six Corinthian columns, seen on this etching, published by Bard Brothers in 1939.  Excellent condition, with a pleasing antique patina.  Sheet size 11 x 9 inches; print size 9 1/2  x 7 inches.  Contact us for framing options.

Anton Schutz (1894 - 1977), was a German-American artist who founded of the New York Graphic Society, and is noted for his architectural etchings of that celebrate the grandeur of the modern city.
